This Russian equivalent to Underworld is one of those types of films. Night Watch is a mix between Blade, Underworld and even After Dark. The premise is pretty cliche - forces of good and evil battling over one person (in this case a little kid) who could control the fate of mankind - but the overall picture as a whole is very nicely done. Timur Bekmambetov seems to come from the Michael Bay school of directing with stylish camera angles, quick-cut editing, and enough special effects to give Korean films a good run for their money. That said, you've probably never seen a Russian movie like Night Watch before, but you've probably seen lots of movie like it elsewhere - namely the US.
