His life is finally going on the right track as his long-time fianc?e (Charlie Yeung) is now ready for marriage. But his lifestyle is about to drastically change after a band of new-breed and well-armed robbers knock over a bank and slaughters a bunch of cops for kicks. Wing boldly promises to the media that he'll capture the thieves within 3 hours time. The promise by Wing angers the thieves and they openly challenge Wing and the entire police force. After a brutal encounter with the thieves, Wing emerges as the only survivor, but physically and mentally broken. No longer sure of himself, Wing dives into depression and relies on booze to keep himself going. A year later finds Wing a drunken shell of his former self. He's forced back onto the case when roookie cop Frank (Nicholas Tse) comes into his life. A charming young man with a secret (he only identifies himself to his fellow cops by his serial number), Frank works with computer cop Sa Sa (Charlene Choi) to find the thieves with their only clue being an Internet video game made and distributed by the cop killers. . .
